Huntsville.

She, was a teacher in the public schools of Galveston, Hearne, El Campo and Columbus, and taught a

1948, Miss Lee devoted her life, to historical endeavors and genealogical research. She was a member of

Miss Lee's most lasting contribution was her gift of the Nesbitt Memorial Library to the City of Columbus in

The library was a memorial to her parents and her sister, Laurie Dell Nesbitt, who predeceased her.

Miss Lee was a member of the First Methodist Church in Columbus, participating actively in the life of the

Mayor Richard Heffley said the library will be “a lasting memorial to Miss Lee Nesbitt’s many contributions
to Columbus. Our community also is indeed grateful for all the many contributions of time and effort she
made on our behalf. She was a very productive, inspirational person and we will miss her."
